Goals

To obtain the demographics of Airbnb Guests such as marital status, family size, income, education, age range, location, gender, profession, profession duration, disposable income, and heritage. This research will be used to provide better statistics to marketers on the true value of Airbnb Guest Demographic.

  • There are over 150 million users of Airbnb globally with more than half a billion guests checking in at Airbnb listings since the company was founded.

Gender

  • Available statistics show that 54% of Airbnb guests are female and 46% are male.

Age range

  • The company listings are very popular with younger consumers with millennials accounting for 60% of all guests who have ever booked on Airbnb.
  • Only 5% of Airbnb users are aged 65 and above.
  • The majority of Airbnb users in the US and Europe are aged between 25 and 34 years.

Location

  • The company is active in over 81,000 cities in 191 countries.

  • France — 485,000 listings
  • Italy — 340,000 listings
  • Spain — 245,000 listings
  • United Kingdom — 175,000 listings
