Goals

To gain insights on the overall players and market size of the "Airbnb for Seniors" (that is, companies offering airbnb services exclusively to seniors - those over 50 years) market for refining a business pitch. Insights should include: players' funding status, business description, difference between them and conventional airbnb companies, regional coverage, popular destinations and user statistics; and market size in the United States. 

Early Findings

From our analysis, there is limited information about the players in this space. However, we presented some findings below:
 Silvernest is a homesharing platform that matches over 50 years homeowners with suitable renters. 
Silvernest has raised $5.6 million in 4 rounds of funding. 
 The Free Bird Club offers airbnb style services exclusively to over 50 years old seniors. 
The Free Bird Club has raised €50K in one round of funding.
The Free Bird Club has members from over 38 countries with Americans being the majority.
 Senior HomeShares is a national free online database that matches senior homeowners with seniors looking to rent a home.
 Room2Care offers "Airbnb for seniors" services to American seniors.  
Seniors are the fastest growing demographic of hosts in the United States as per a recent annual report by Airbnb.
According to Airbnb, in 2017 almost 78,000 American seniors (60 years and over) hosted people in their homes and cumulatively earned $700 million.
 Golden Girls Network is a national database which matches seniors homeowners and home renters. However, their website domain name has expired and posts in the most recent posts in their Facebook page are from October, 2017.
