Research Outline

Companies Offering Surveys to Embed in Advertising

Goals

To have a list of 5-10 companies that offer surveys within ad spots.

Early Findings

  • As it turns out, it looks like many companies are still engaging in guesswork. A Hubspot study found that a full 42% of companies don't survey their customers or collect feedback. This shows that this could be an area to exploit.
  • We were not provided a geographic focus for this project, so we assumed a narrow approach and looked specifically at the United States. If a more broad approach is desired, for example, a global view, this would have to be clearly communicated to us in any reply within each appropriate scoping box.

Companies Offering Surveys to Embed in Advertising

  • Online survey software tool GetFeedback, allows a company to send on-brand marketing surveys to their customers and their audience. This tool can "collect in-the-moment feedback across all channels, including email, SMS, website, and mobile apps." This tool is SurveyMonkey’s customer experience solution.
  • ZohoSurvey has the ability to send surveys via web links, custom domain links, email campaigns, social media, and QR codes. Reporting and analysis is available in real-time. Other reporting capabilities include filtered responses, custom reports, scheduled reports, and multiple export formats. Response collection includes offline support and website embedding.
  • YesInsights integrates with various email marketing systems including SendGrid, Intercom, Marketo, and with third party apps via Zapier.
  • Alchemer focuses on allowing people to collect/analyze data from any source and integrating the feedback into core business applications. There is a wide range of question types, logic & branching, with more advanced survey scripting, publishing and email campaign features also supported under paid plans. Alchemer is built to go beyond a basic survey and ask more layered, complex questions to obtain insightful results.
  • Jotform is an online form builder that allows the user to create an online survey with their free survey maker and set up conditional logic to personalize the experience for their users, and quickly embed the survey in their website or share it with a link to start collecting responses.

Their online survey tool offers an end-to-end solution with advanced functionalities designed to engage participants, increase response rates, and analyze trends. They offer multi-channel distribution helping a brand reach an audience, wherever they are.
  • Qualtrics has built-in templates that assists the user to develop a survey. They can assist with validating advertising concepts and creative executions by testing them with a sample of a target audience. With Qualtrics CoreXM, the user can identify which print, video, and digital ads resonate and will likely drive sales, and which ads fail to connect or negatively impact the brand.
  • QuestionPro provides both quantitative and qualitative research options. The free survey creator comes with an easy to use interface along with sample survey templates to help the user get started easily. With this tool the user can send their survey through mobile, email, text messages, website embeds or via social media.

Summary Of Our Early Findings Relevant To The Goals

  • As discussed at the top of this document, we were not provided a geographic focus for this project, so we assumed a narrow approach and looked specifically at the United States. If a more broad approach is desired, for example, a global view, this would have to be clearly communicated to us in any reply within each appropriate scoping box.
  • Our initial hour of research focused on scanning and curating eight companies that offer surveys that can be embedded with ad spots. They are GetFeedback, ZohoSurvey, YesInsights, Alchemer, Jotform, SogoSurvey, Qualtrics, and QuestionPro.
  • There appear to be more companies/tools out there that do this, but we did not have enough time in the initial hour to find and vet them. If more companies/tools are desired, we can locate more in subsequent research, and that will be scoped for.
  • We did not have time to delve into the features, pricing, products, customers, and functionality of all the identified tools in order to provide a competitive landscape. If that is desired, we can do that in subsequent research, and that will be scoped for.
  • Please select one or more of the options provided in the proposed scoping section below.
