Goals

To understand the current competitive landscape of the home water filtration market by obtaining an overview of systems currently available on the market.

Early Findings

To obtain a list of the best home water filtration systems on the market, we leverged industry reviews from Climate Counts and Water Filter Magazine with a primary focus on water filtration systems that provide protection beyond chlorine, flouride, and iron removal to include virus and bacteria removal.

  • The Aquasana 1,000,000 Gallon Rhino provides whole house water filtration for 10 years or 1,000,000 gallons. It removes 97% of chlorine and 99.99% of viruses, bacteria like E. Coli, and chlorine resistant cysts like Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
  • The Springwell Whole House Filtration system uses a 4-stage proprietary designed ActivFlo filtration allowing the most contact time between filter media and water. It removes 99.6% of chlorine. The UV sterilizer add-on 99.9% of harmful pathogens, viruses, and bacteria including E.coli, Cryptospordium and Giardia lamblia.
  • The AquaOx DF12 Whole House Filtration kills 99% of bacteria from water for up to 250,000 gallons as well as reducing chlorine, fluoride and nitrates. The system leverages Quantum Disinfection™ (QD) technology "that uses the quantum mechanic principles of electron movement to create catalytic active surfaces (positively charged) that can disintegrate any microorganism instantly, upon contact."
