Smart Cameras: Computer vision

• In order to ensure that the port is safe and secure, this port is working hand-in-hand with many partners. This has been achieved with the intricate network of over 600 cameras that are monitoring everything that is going on.
• These cameras identify objects and automatically analyze them with computer vision and artificial intelligence. Below are some practical applications.
•  Increased frequency of inspections by optimizing preventive maintenance, conduct analyses of the vehicles that pass through, and increased security by monitoring traffic and the weight of the containers.

The Digital Twin

• This is a real-time digital three-dimensional map of the port. Most of the data used is collected in real-time by the cameras. This is ideal in identifying the ships at the dock and the state of the water.

Summary of our Early Findings

• Our initial research was able to provide insights into one use case of smart ports. We have provided a brief analysis of this use case.
