  • Perceptions on body appearances are also impacted when people compare themselves with the images of others.
  • Currently, enhanced pictures of people that are posted online seem to promote "body positivity and esteem."
  • However, this was found to have the opposite impact.
  • Media further impact perceptions of beauty by using pictures of emaciated and gorgeous models which feeds the notion that "thin is beautiful."
