Average Annual Miles of Fleet Vehicles
Based on the National Transportation Energy Data Book, there were around
3,669,000 fleet cars
in 2018.
Around
34%
of this figure are government vehicles,
49%
are rentals, and
17%
are commercial.
There were also around
4,958,000 fleet trucks
that have less than
19,500 lbs
. gross vehicle weight (GVW).
Around
38%
of this were government vehicles,
10%
rental and
52%
commercial trucks.
The average annual miles that were covered by commercial fleet vehicles are the following:

Based on a survey, the average rental car lease was for

Summary of Findings:
Our initial research provided the average vehicle miles that were traveled by each major vehicle category for the year 2018.
However, the vehicles were not classified for each class type number as only the major category descriptions were indicated in the public sources found.
