To obtain insights on the challenges of freelancing; the skills verification to be used the talent engagement model to be used; the friction areas for freelancers; and how to source freelancers.
There are several challenges recruiters face in relation to freelancing. Some include: lack of commitment, not getting the right match, communication issues, payment issues, and missed deadlines.
Lack of commitment. With freelancers, the same level of commitment is not the same as with a regular staff. This is related to the fact that they are always looking for greener pastures or having multiple projects.
Payment issues. Both freelancers and recruiters have challenges with making ad receiving payments. International transfer fees are usually costly for the recruiter and some freelancers complain of not getting paid on time.
Deadly deadlines. Since freelancers are at liberty to plan their work schedule, there is an increased chance of them missing clients' deadlines. In some cases they might have emergencies that they must attend to such as funerals, getting ill and having to attend weddings.
