Value-Based Mental Healthcare - Journalists

Goals

To find journalists that have covered stories around value-based mental healthcare and the need for the mental healthcare system in the United States to be modernized and improved. Examples of coverage include racial or economic disparities in mental healthcare and how patients are unable to afford the needed support as a result of lack of insurance or partial reimbursement of healthcare costs by their insurance provider.

Early Findings

Kelsey Waddilll wrote an article about the introduction of a value-based reimbursement model by BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York for behavioral healthcare. BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York is partnering with Value Network to implement the service.
Heather LandiHeather Landi wrote a similar article about the introduction of a value-based reimbursement model by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina for behavioral healthcare. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina entered into a partnership with Quartet to implement the service.
