While there are no publicly available lists of the top industry awards, there are multiple lists and articles that will enable a variety of prestigious awards and the necessary information to be collated. To obtain awards a two-pronged approach was used. First, research was conducted to locate prestigious industry awards, then research looked at top companies and the awards they had received. This first hour focused exclusively on building the initial list.

- APPIES Malaysia is an annual event that presents an opportunity for creative, media, digital and marketing agencies or brands to present their best campaigns to the industry live with live judging.
- Hermes Creative Awards- "Hermes Creative Awards honors the messengers and creators of the information revolution. Armed with their imaginations and computers, Hermes winners bring their ideas to life through traditional and digital platforms".
- Clio Awards- excellence in marketing across multiple verticals are awarded the Clio.
Technology
- Webby Awards- The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet.
- The Ventana Research Awards Program-This awards program is designed to highlight companies and individuals that improve people, processes, information, and technology. They divide their awards into two groups, digital innovation and digital leadership.
- Global Mobile Awards- Multiple mobile tech awards are given. It is so competitive that a short list is announced, then the awards.
Design/Architecture
- Pritzker Architecture Prize- 'To honor a living architect or architects whose built work demonstrates a combination of those qualities of talent, vision, and commitment, which has produced consistent and significant contributions to humanity and the built environment through the art of architecture."

- Fastmarkets Global Awards for Steel Excellence- "For the past nine years, Fastmarkets has presented the Global Awards for Steel Excellence, which is one of the most prestigious and recognizable awards program for the global steel industry. The awards have recognized world-class innovation and excellence in steel and related industries for companies throughout the steel supply chain and by key partners to the industry. Firms that are finalists and winners have demonstrated best practices to achieve outstanding results. They embody best-in-class practices as measured by global standards."

- Global Gaming Awards- "The Global Gaming Awards Las Vegas recognize and reward the gaming industry's strongest performers across the previous 12 months, with a strong focus on the Americas. These are the most trusted Awards in the industry and have gained respect amongst industry heavyweights, making this the must-attend event that kicks off G2E."
Summary of Initial Research
- A global focus was used, as we were looking for leading awards programs. If a different focus is desired, please state the focus in the comments section for the appropriate project.
- We were able to locate 17 different awards across multiple industries and areas. Since there was not a comprehensive list that stated the best ten awards, we instead looked for the most prestigious awards in multiple industries and areas. This gave us a wide variety of awards that will ultimately provide best practices. More than awards were located because some awards might not have enough information or be the type of award that will provide the answers to all the questions we have listed in the goals section.
- Therefore, we believe the best way to proceed is to research these awards and provide the ones that can answer the questions in the goals section, and disregard awards that will not provide any best practices.
