  • I-O psychologists are often hired to help an organization overcome its challenges especially those that might result in a loss of profit. They help to increase productivity.
  • They often have to undertake research within the company, speak directly with employees, and make recommendations for policy changes beneficial to the employees and the company.

Websites and Resources

  • I-O psychologists have access to the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) either as visitors or members. This organization provides a wealth of information for them including guidelines and policies.
  • Members of SIOP have full access to the organization's official journal publications, called 'Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice', that are done quarterly. Nonmembers are required to pay a subscription fee to access these.
