• As at 2018, there were 55,000 employees in the Nevada Manufacturing Industry making up 4% of non farm employment in the state.
• Manufacturing was the largest contributor to Nevada’s gross domestic product in the third quarter of 2018 with 15.2%.
• This 4% had an average annual salary of $63,747.48, almost 50% above the average wage rate.
• This average salary has increased since then, with the 2019 Nevada Economy in Brief Report placing average monthly salaries at $9,739.
• As of late 2019, there were 61,200 jobs/employees in the industry.
• Along with construction, manufacturing is one of the fastest-growing industries in Nevada.

Job Titles/Roles, Functions and Education Opportunities in the Nevada Manufacturing Industry

• The largest projected growth occupations for 2020 are for roles as general freight laborers , wholesale and manufacturing sales reps, supervisors and production workers, metal fabricators and fitters and general and operations managers, all of whom would be involved in manufacturing in Nevada.
• Also, there is a more tech-centric focus within the industry. 50% of the jobs in the industry could be replaced by 2030.
• This shift means that as much as 50% of the current and incoming employable population may need to be retrained and reeducated to meet the demand for jobs in the future.
• It is expected that for every job lost in the sector in Nevada, 1.7 new and higher paying jobs requiring higher level skills will be created.
