Make a list of companies that are connecting travel influencers with guests to plan their next authentic trip.

Goals

To build a list of companies/startups connecting travel influencers with guests to plan their trip and analyze their service offerings in order to evaluate the market and competitors of Airblack.

Early Findings

  • Our preliminary research didn't reveal any similar company or startup that connects travel influencers with guests to plan their next authentic trip. However, we found startups such as Trill Travel and Mapify that connects guests with influencers' travel content and pictures and enables guests to plan their trip based on the travel content from influencers.
  •  TRILL Travel is an example of a company that connects guests to influencer travel content to help plan their trip. The company uses "artificial intelligence and image recognition technology reviews each piece of content and categorizes it by hotel, activity and restaurant", allowing the guest to plan his/her trip based on the content provided by influencers on Instagram.
  •  Lonely Planet acquired Trill Travel in 2019 for an undisclosed fee.
  •  Mapify offers a similar solution and allows people to plan their trip based on travel pictures shared on its platform.
  • Mapify has generated about $1.3 million in funding.
