Stamford, CT: LGBTQ, Black, Hispanic, or Women Events

Goals

To identify 3-4 additional events that attracted large groups (1,000+) of LGBTQ, black, Hispanic, or female attendees in 2019 in Stamford, CT, or speaker series, regardless of size.

Early Findings

After looking through Stamford, CT conference databases and news sources, we were unable to identify additional Stamford, CT events for LGBTQ, black, Hispanic, or female attendees that had over 1,000 people in attendance in 2019. The closest match we found was an event with over 750 attendees, as related below. We encountered some smaller events, but it appears the scope will need to be expanded beyond Stamford to identify other relevant events, such as this women's march in Hartford, CT that attracted nearly 3,000 attendees.

Planned Parenthood Spring Luncheon

  • Women's rights activist Gloria Steinem was the guest speaker.
  • The event raised more than $850,000.
