In our initial search, we scoured industry reports, market reports, scientific charts, engineering specs, and media publications for any precompiled data regarding the amount of power produced by diesel generators worldwide. Through this search, we found technical specs of generators, guides for how they work, market sizing, and types of generators used in the market, however, there was no mention of the energy output of these generators globally. We then conducted a search for market proxies that could be used for calculation. Our goal was to determine the number of generators operating worldwide to determine the maximum potential output based on operating specifications. Unfortunately, after an exhaustive search, we determined that no such metric is available to the public. We do not believe that further research will be able to determine the actual or estimated global power produced by diesel generators, however, we have provided alternative research paths below that may provide additional insights into the market.
