SITE RESEARCH AND VISIT

  • The report found that larger businesses tend to employ a more objective and systematic decision-making process when researching for the next company site.
  • Smaller businesses tend to rely on individual personal preferences, such as proximity to the business owner's residence.
  • The following factors were determined to be the most important to firms when researching potential sites: access to transport, property price, proximity to clients, and availability of skilled labor.
  • The following factors were deemed to be of low importance: proximity to current firm location, personal preference of key decision makers, quality of life for employees, local wages, government policies, and proximity to suppliers.
