Research Outline

Universities Teaching Business Studies

Goals

To provide the number of universities globally that are teaching business studies (which includes accounting or finance courses)
  • Provide the number of universities teaching business studies for each country

Early Findings

  • There is no precompiled number of universities teaching business studies globally or per country. However, the AACSB-Accredited Universities and the World University Rankings may give us some figures, though it is not exhaustive.

AACSB-Accredited Universities

  • According to the Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), 890 business schools and universities are AACSB accredited across 58 countries. Also, "189 institutions hold a supplemental, specialized AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs."
  • Argentina has 1 AACSB-accredited business school that offers a business course.
  • Australia has 19 AACSB-accredited universities that offer a business course.
  • Austria has 2 AACSB-accredited universities that offer a business course.
  • Bahrain has 1 AACSB-accredited university that offers a business course.
  • Belgium has 4 AACSB-accredited universities that offer a business course.
  • Bosnia has 1 AACSB-accredited university that offers a business course.

Summary of Early Findings

  • We have provided some data regarding the number of universities teaching business studies globally and per country. We also used the initial hour of research looking for the availability of the needed information.
  • We have not found a precompiled number of universities teaching business studies. Instead, we have counted the number of universities for each country manually. This is based on the AACSB list of schools. We didn't have time to count the universities for the other countries, but we can do so with further hours of research.
