To gather studies or research that show the number of households that own pets in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah, as well as a list of studies that talk about the positive impact that pet ownership has on mental health or physical health, including any references to reductions in costs. The information will be used to help develop a concept that rethinks the way healthcare costs are covered for pets.
According to our initial research, the only recent study/research that shows pet ownership by state was done by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AMVA).
- The American Pet Products Association (APPA) published a more recent survey, available at a price of $3,500, regarding pet ownership in the US. However, as per its summary of contents, the study does not seem to provide ownership by state.
In addition to this public search, we scanned our proprietary research database of over 1 million sources and were unable to find any specific research reports that address your goals.
